The GE Protimeter HygroTrac ® kit is a simple and cost-effective system for monitoring environmental conditions remotely in buildings. Recent advances in micro-electronic design have made it possible for GE Protimeter to manufacture miniature wireless sensors that can be installed during or after construction to monitor the systems that control a facility's environment making it possible to identify moisture-related problems before they result in costly repairs and liability. The GE Protimeter HygroTrac ® kit measures and logs data parameters such as relative humidity, dew point, temperature, and moisture in materials. Information recorded by the GE Protimeter HygroTrac ® kit's sensors are sent to the data acquisition gateway. The data acquisition gateway is connected to a dedicated and secure web server via Ethernet or phone line. The measurements can then be viewed from any internet connection using a secure password to access results. Data can also be stored directly on the GE Protimeter HygroTrac ® kit's gateway for later retrieval if an internet connection is not available.

The GE Protimeter HygroTrac ® kit allows users to remotely monitor up to 600 individual locations with a single gateway provided the sensors are within the transmission range (up to 150 feet depending upon building materials and construction). Frequency of reporting can be user-adjusted from 1 minute to 24 hours. Additional gateways can be incorporated into the system if the number of sensors or the distance from sensor to gateway is too great.

Web Data Service

The web data service is provided by GE Protimeter and allows users to access data and produce reports over any internet connection. Individual sensors can be named and readings can be displayed graphically. The web data service uses secure, password protected access. Data access fees apply for this service. The web data service provides the additional benefits of allowing users to set threshold alarms, receive e-mail and text message warnings and comprehensive site reports all while reducing costly site visits.
