Our ability to remotely analyze machine health has been greatly extended with the launch of our superior wireless technology. Ranger is the first of our machinery health information systems that can be built as an entirely wireless installation.
Ranger
With Ranger you can continuously monitor machinery in the most inaccessible environments and remotely monitor the health of your critical assets around the clock, automatically alerting you to potential problems and avoiding costly downtime. Our wireless technology makes it possible to monitor critical assets where wiring is prohibitive.
Ranger modules integrate with existing or traditional wired systems, allowing you to build the most cost effective system of wireless and wired modules specific to your facility's environment.
Combine the benefits of a permanent installation with the flexibility of a portable monitoring device. Like traditional permanently mounted installations, Ranger allows you to collect data more cost effectively, more timely, and with improved accuracy compared with walk around portable routines. Eliminating wires provides flexibility and allows you to create temporary setups to focus on specific machinery with relative ease.
Ranger is also designed as a scalable modular system, as modules can be added to grow with your condition monitoring program. Invest in a machine health information system that will continue to meet the needs of your company now and in the future with Ranger.

What is Ranger?
The Ranger system has four modules: the Ranger Sensor (pictured, above), Ranger Booster, Ranger Station and Ranger Bridge. These four modules collect and transmit data, boost the signal strength, log the data and interface with Ascent, and allow us to connect to wired systems respectively.
There's no single way to make up a Ranger system - each will be unique to the environment we've been asked to monitor. The Ranger modules form a network over the factory environment. The lack of wiring means customers can move the Ranger Sensors to set up temporary installations if they need to, and additional modules can be added so the system grows as changes with the factory floor.
How Ranger works
The Ranger Sensor is mounted on the machine part being monitored. It ¡®sleeps' until either a scheduled recording is requested or a user configured trigger level of vibration is exceeded. With recommend usage, the Ranger Sensor has a battery life of 18 months.
The Ranger Booster reads and amplifies signals from multiple Ranger Sensors and sends the data to the Ranger Station.
The Ranger Station collects the signal data and feeds it into the Ascent software program.
The Ranger Bridge is our optional wired module designed for fully wired installations and offers a variety of advanced measurement capabilities.
Our award winning Ascent software is a comprehensive and powerful data analysis and archiving tool, that allows you to set alarms, monitor trends and produce reports. The same installation of Ascent can support all of our wireless, wired and portable instruments. Ranger features
- Self-healing network allows system to continue monitoring even when part of the network loses power or connection - the nearest module will connect it in to the network.
- Dual-axis readings.
- Wake on hi-vibe feature gives full control, taking pre-scheduled readings and can be set to take additional recording when pre-configured vibration levels are exceeded. This conserves battery life of wireless sensors.
- Reduced analyst time as data is only provided when there is a problem to assess.
- Ability to create temporary set-ups to monitor troublesome, recently repaired or new machines and collect baseline recordings for acceptance criteria.
- Enjoy the greater data integrity of a permanently connected monitoring system.
