Thermo-Tuff
The Hydronix Thermo-Tuff is a fast response, high precision, linear temperature sensor for use in industrial processes. Designed for measurement in bulk materials and mixing applications, it is especially suited for use in the harshest of environments such as concrete mixers and aggregate bins.
This sensor outclasses its rivals by taking advantage of high speed, high accuracy electronics, thermally isolated from their surroundings to achieve the fastest possible temperature response. Typical applications for the Thermo-Tuff include sand, cement, concrete, asphalt and aggregates .
Features of the Thermo-Tuff
- Installed T90, industry leading 56 seconds
- Easy to install with a choice of fixing options; a mounting collar for mixers and an extension mounting sleeve for aggregate bins.
- 4-20mA linear output for easy connection to all control systems.
- 0-80¡ÆC temperature range.
- Rugged, compact and self contained design.
- Low Cost.

Installation and Mounting for the Thermo-Tuff Temperature Sensor
The Thermo-Tuff temperature sensor has been designed for mounting in a mixer or a bin or silo. It is easy to install using the Standard Mounting Collar or Extension Mounting Sleeve and Collar.
The sensor can be mounted either horizontally or vertically but the sensing face must touch the material to be measured. Full details regarding installation can be found in the User Guide . |

Mounting a Thermo-Tuff Sensor |
In a Bin or Silo
Typical installation for a bin or silo is in the side wall using the Extension Mounting Sleeve and Collar. Installation is simple, a small hole is cut into the bin and the Extension Mounting Collar welded centrally over it. The sensor is then inserted into the Extension Mounting Sleeve and secured. The sleeve is then inserted into the Mounting Collar and fixed using the bolts on the collar. |
In a Mixer
The Thermo-Tuff should be installed in the floor of the mixer, with the sensing face flush with the floor. This will prevent build up of any material around the sensor and protect it from damage by the mixer blades. Installation is simple, a small hole is cut into the floor of the mixer and the Standard Mounting Collar welded centrally over it. The sensor is then inserted into the mounting collar and fixed using the bolts on the collar. |
